CATL Enters Strategic Partnership with Jiangxi Communications Investment Group

On May 9, CATL entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Jiangxi Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd. (JCIG) to promote green transportation.

Under the agreement, the two parties will leverage their respective strengths, integrate resources, and cooperate with each other to promote the application of new energy in various scenarios, including electric heavy-duty trucks. The two parties will also jointly build charging and battery swapping networks in highway service areas, actively develop distributed photovoltaic and energy storage systems, and create "green corridors" for medium and short-distance travel to foster a new energy supply ecosystem for green transportation. 


Xie Jianfa, chairman of JCIG said that JCIG has focused on its main line of business to build a modern industrial system and develop a first-class platform for transportation investment, operation, and industrial activities in recen years. CATL has great advantage in research and development, innovative new energy technologies, and supply chain management, which lays a solid foundation and offers ample potential for cooperation between the two parties. Both parties hope to strengthen communication and continuously expand the scope of cooperation in energy and transportation integration, smart transportation, and digital economy. 


Wu Yingming, chairman of the Supervisory Board of CATL recognized that JCIG, as the leading player of infrastructure investment, construction, and operation in Jiangxi province, operates highways with massive data resources and diverse application scenarios. These resources allow fast development of derivative industries and high level of integration, featuring broad market prospects with unlimited potential. CATL is committed to providing premier solutions and services for new energy applications worldwide. Leveraging its strong technical capabilities, CATL will align with JCIG's strategic layout and accelerate the implementation of collaborative projects in areas such as heavy-duty truck battery swapping, photovoltaics and energy storage, and superfast charging. 


The two parties will continue engaging in in-depth exchanges in green energy, smart transportation, digital logistics, and other areas, so as to promote the deep integration of transportation with new technologies and new energy, driving the high-quality development of the transportation sector.
