On August 28, Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. (SIPG) and CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai to promote low-carbon transformation of the shiping and port industry.
According to the agreement, the two sides are expected to establish in-depth cooperation around green port, smart port, and zero-carbon port construction by focusing their efforts on energy infrastructure construction, low-carbon logistics, electrification of vehicles, ships and construction machinery, digital and intelligent upgrade of ports, and battery recycling, thus serving the green, low-carbon and sustainable development of the port and shipping industry.
As the operator of public terminals in the Port of Shanghai (home port of SIPG), SIPG ranked first in the world for 14 consecutive years in terms of container throughput. Adhering to the concept of “green, digital, and intelligent development,” CATL will join efforts with SIPG to make greater contributions to speeding up the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Service Center (SISSC).
