On March 18, 2024, CATL signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Henan Transport Investment Group Co., Ltd. (HATI) to promote green transportation of central China's Henan Province.
According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly build green transportation energy supply ecosystem and battery swapping station network in freeway service areas, promote the electrification of all types of fuel machinery, vehicles and equipment in freeway construction and service area operation, explore cooperation on photovoltaic projects in service areas and toll stations, and build supporting energy storage systems. The two parties will build intelligent charging stations and battery swapping stations combining solar power generation, battery energy storage, supercharging and testing in service areas and along key national and provincial highways. They will also speed up the promotion of the application of electric heavy-duty trucks to form a zero-carbon trunk transportation network. In addition, the two parties will promote the building of green and low-carbon ports through the construction of wind and solar energy storage system, electric boat power systems and shore charging and swapping systems around inland navigation.
Relying on the advantages of freeway network resources, HATI is planning to build infrastructure of solar power generation, solar power transmission and distribution, solar power consumption, solar energy storage system and solar power charging station. It will strive to build and put into operation over 100 green and low-carbon service areas and around 10,000 charging spaces, and increase more than 1,000 megawatts of installed solar power capacity within five years. Dr. Robin Zeng, Chairman and CEO of CATL, said that relying on CATL's great technical strength and focusing on the strategic layout of HATI, CATL will accelerate the implementation of two parties' cooperation in heavy-duty truck battery swapping, solar energy storage, supercharging, the construction of zero-carbon ports, etc. The purpose of this cooperation is to jointly build green Henan, explore a zero-carbon future and expand new areas of cooperation.
