On February 4, CATL and Shudao Investment Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Chengdu, capital city of southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
Shudao Investment Group, the first Fortune Global 500 company in Sichuan, has global competitiveness in engineering design, construction, and development of transportation infrastructures. Through this collaboration, the two parties will strengthen cooperation in areas such as mineral resource development, lithium-ion battery new materials, electrification of various scenarios, new energy storage, green electricity and carbon sinks, battery recycling, and industrial finance, fully leveraging their respective strengths to jointly support Sichuan in building a world-class new energy industry hub.
Sichuan is abundant in lithium-ion battery mineral resources and electrification scenario resources. Both parties aim to achieve rapid implementation of projects in areas such as green mine development, construction of electrified transportation, and the integration of transportation and energy along green trunk roads. Additionally, both parties will promote the new energy vehicle battery swapping project and build supporting battery swapping stations, and explore the construction of superfast charging networks and battery swapping service networks along expressways in Sichuan Province and beyond. In the field of green energy storage, both parties will carry out comprehensive cooperation in new energy businesses such as wind power, solar power, integrated energy storage, carbon sinks, and green electricity trading.
The signing of the agreement between CATL and Shudao Investment Group is one of the measures following the agreement signed earlier between CATL and Sichuan Province to comprehensively deepen cooperation. It aims to promote the implementation of the cooperation agreement from the enterprise side, marking another significant step for CATL’s comprehensive engagement in Sichuan. CATL will work hand in hand with the Sichuan government and local leading enterprises to jointly build a green Sichuan and a zero-carbon future.
