CATL made its debut at the Marintec China

Marintec China 2023 was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from December 5 to 8, 2023. During the event, CATL presented a variety of electric vessel battery system products and solutions, and released the industry’s first full-lifecycle collaborative operation cloud platform for new energy vessels as well as CATL’s first comprehensive energy replenishment solution, which includes both battery charging and swapping with zero carbon emission, to contribute to the zero-carbon transition of global shipping.

Marintec China, known as the APEC of the international maritime industry, is one of the most influential maritime exhibitions in the world. CATL, as the world’s first full-lifecycle electric vessel solution provider, made its debut in the exhibition, and it is also the first-ever showcase of CATL’s electric vessel solutions.

The full-lifecycle collaborative operation cloud platform for new energy vessels, developed independently by CATL, is the first cloud ecosystem platform in the electric vessel industry. Relying on CATL’s leading battery big data and AI decision-making ability, this platform not only provides cloud-edge-end collaborative safety warning for electric vessel batteries, but also enables intelligent recommendations and real-time processing of vessel battery charging and swapping. Featuring the advantages of one-stop service, digital intelligence and high scalability, it can meet the digital needs of various marine application scenarios.

The first comprehensive energy replenishment solution of battery charging and swapping with zero carbon emission released by CATL consists of three major products: containerized mobile power, high-voltage high-power battery charging system, and cloud platform. In the “vessel and battery separation” mode, it can not only realize the standardized, shared and intelligent application of containerized mobile power, but also get electric vessels fully charged quickly to solve range anxiety, greatly improving the utilization rate, operation efficiency and the economy of electric vessels.

The rapid development of CATL in the field of electric vessels, and the continuous expansion of its ecosystem, are the result of its hard work and dedication over the past six years. CATL officially entered the ship electrification field in 2017 and became the first EV battery enterprise recognized and tested by the China Classification Society (CCS) in accordance with the latest Guidelines for the Test of Battery Electric Ships . At present, more than 500 new energy vessels equipped with CATL battery have been put into service around the world.

It is estimated by EVtank that the market size of electric vessels in China will reach 36.75 billion yuan by 2026.
