Recently, CATL has been included in Global Battery Alliance (GBA)'s new Board of Directors. The appointment is effective from April 2023 and the term will run until December 2024. CATL is also a member of the GBA Supervisory Council.

Founded in 2017 at the World Economic Forum (WEF), GBA is the first global battery association of its kind across the world. GBA brings together leading industry actors, governments, NGOs and academics, covering the entire global battery value chain. GBA takes active actions in battery passport, critical materials, energy access & circularity and other aspects, aiming to foster a sustainable, responsible and just battery value chain by 2030.

In recent years, CATL has vigorously practiced energy saving and carbon emission reduction efforts, carried out research on whole life cycle carbon emission reduction of products, and promoted the establishment of a set of globally unified and mutually recognized carbon footprint standards. In November this year, CATL has launched the "CREDIT" transparency audit program on sustainable value chain, which is the industry's first audit toolkit created by CATL for the lithium-ion battery supply chain based on multiple standard system frameworks and the actual situation of the industry chain. The appointment of new Board of GBA will enable CATL to continue to lead the sustainable development of the industry, and will also drive the establishment of more scientific, reasonable, and globally representative carbon footprint standards, therefore making contributions to the sustainable development of the global battery industry.
